The Right of Individuals to Keep and Bear Arms

The right of individuals to keep and bear arms for home defense, hunting, or sport is enshrined in the U.S. Constitution and must be defended. The long, sad history of gun control in our country is mired by racial prejudice, and meant to disempower individual rights. Efforts at gun registration will lead as it has in other countries to confiscation. Possession of semiautomatic weapons, rarely used in crime, must not be prohibited. Gun carry permits, like marriage licenses, should be honored across state lines.
